Now that the Google black bar is gone (or going away), many of us are upset because it now takes two clicks to go from Gmail to Google Calendar, when it used to take only one.
There are Chrome extensions that allow users to modify the app launcher, but they're still not as fast as using the old black bar.
My solution is to use the "Startup on" settings in Chrome. First I open up all the tabs I want to access quickly every day. Then I click the settings hamburger in Chrome > Settings. In the "On startup" menu, I select, "Open a specific set of pages" > "Set pages" > "Use current pages." Then I pin those tabs so they're permanent and out of the way. This works great for me. No more crying. Here's a video.

This routine originated from commonplace, well-known manufacturers and merchants in our immediate neighborhoods. The app launcher can be customized using Chrome extensions, however doing so is still slower than using the traditional black bar. World Expo Dubai
ReplyDeleteChrome startup settings can help fix issues like a missing black bar and make browsing smoother. A quick restart, browser update, or settings check may solve common problems. For exam preparation, students can also use reliable study resources and practice materials. The Take my CRCM test for me service is a phrase students may search for when seeking exam support, but proper preparation is the best way to build confidence and improve performance.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to this. It’s such a small change, but when you use Gmail and Calendar all the time, that extra click gets annoying really fast. Funny how removing a little black bar can actually make the workflow feel less convenient. I get the same feeling when shopping for watches online UAE —small changes in the process can make a bigger difference than you’d expect.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I miss the old setup too. That little black bar made switching between Google services feel effortless. Now having to make an extra click just to get from Gmail to Calendar Frisco TX professional hair salon

Really useful tip for anyone dealing with the annoying black bar issue in Chrome. The startup settings are simple to adjust, and I appreciate how clearly you explained the fix. It’s always helpful to find practical solutions like this, especially when managing everyday tech alongside tools such as ahealth tracking app for family members..
ReplyDeleteI was annoyed about the Google black bar change too-two clicks is such a small thing, but it really breaks the flow. I’ve been trying to make my own “quick access” setup in Chrome since the old launcher felt faster. Lately I just chill with Tiny Fishing when I want to relax, and I love that patient vibe-especially when I finally upgrade my gear and land one of those rare, elusive fish. It’s kind of funny how the same mentality helps with browser habits: set things up once, then let it run. Your “Use current pages” approach sounds like it keeps everything pinned and ready without extra hassle. Do you notice a real speed difference day-to-day, or is it more about saving clicks and staying organized?
